Southport Yacht Club boasts a large membership base of more than 4000 registered members. Members enjoy exclusive use of all three locations of the Southport Yacht Club (Main Beach Clubhouse, Dux Anchorage and Sailing School at Hollywell) and exclusive discounts on food, beverage and waterfront facilities. With eight different membership levels available there is no better social or boating club to be apart of. Becoming a member is a simple process of downloading the below forms and emailing them to our Membership Secretary membership@southportyachtclub.com.au. Vessel registration is also available with Southport Yacht Club which provides you with a small burgee, certificate of registration and the ability to enter club boating events.

It finally arrived with the New Moon in September…the perfect “tailing tide”, so we hit the water with the crew from Long Bay Custom Boat Works and the photographer for St. Croix Rods to experience the fishery on the Lower Cape Fear River in it’s prime.

Had a tough ride out to Fire Island Inlet in thick fog. It did clear up and as the incoming current started the bluefish showed in the inlet with a vengeance. 1 ounce Blue Frog Bucktails accounted for numerous small bluefish in the 2-4lb class similar to the fish seen in the video Sand eels are thick in the Fire Island Inlet area and these bluefish are all over them
